Motorsport: McLaren Formula One star Lando Norris confirms positive COVID-19 test

McLaren Formula One driver Lando Norris has tested positive for COVID-19 and is now self-isolating.

McLaren said that Norris had returned a positive result earlier this week in Dubai, where he is on holiday before the team's training camp begins later this month.

Norris, 21, said that he took a coronavirus test after losing his sense of taste and smell.

Norris is the fourth F1 driver to test positive for COVID-19, after seven-times champion Lewis Hamilton, Mexican Sergio Perez and Lance Stroll of Racing Point (now Aston Martin) returned positive tests last season.

Norris finished ninth in the championship standings last season and will be joined by a new teammate in 2021 - Australian Daniel Ricciardo.
