The NZ Breakers have stunned the Brisbane Bullets 81-76 with a dramatic overtime victory to end their four-game losing streak.
The Kiwi club were lead by star guard Tai Webster (27 points, 10 assists) who had a timely return to form with a double-double to steer his side to their fifth ANBL win of the season.
Webster had a late chance to win it in regular-time but his fade-away jump shot under-pressure didn't go but that didn't matter as the Breakers stood up and came away with an important six-point victory.
The Breakers are still shorthanded with only three players sparingly used off the bench, so head coach Dan Shamir will hope to have the services of injured guard Corey Webster and new signing William McDowell-White available soon.
It was a tight affair throughout the contest with neither side able to build a major lead as they struggled to shot the ball. Both sides were below 40 percent from inside the arc.
Rasmus Bach chipped in with 16 points for his Kiwi club but American import Colton Iverson stole the show with his immense performance.
He contributed a double-double with 10 points and a remarkable 20 rebounds to dominate the boards for his side. The Breakers were plus-11 when Iverson was on the court meaning the Breakers outscored Brisbane by 11 when he was subbed in.
The New Zealanders took a three-point lead into the final stanza but just as they did against Melbourne United two nights ago, they couldn't close it out.
Brisbane were lead by guard Anthony Drmic (25 points) but it was Nathan Sobey (23 points, 11 rebounds) who made the biggest impact down the stretch.
He scored the final six points in regular time for his club and levelled the scores with a driving layup with just 53-seconds remaining to send the game into overtime.
The tight affair continued in the extra quarter before Finn Delany (17 points, nine rebounds) made a crucial three-pointer with just 32-seconds remaining to see his side hit the front.
Webster closed out the lion-hearted performance from his side with two clutch free-throws to give the Breakers a much-needed victory.
