NRL 2021: Awkward scenes, as Luke Brooks bounces off 150th-game commemorative banner

Wests Tigers halfback Luke Brooks has had a moment to forget in celebrating his 150th NRL match, bouncing off his own commemorative banner on his way onto the ground.

Notching his 150th appearance in Tigers colours, Brooks was given the honour of leading the team out onto Campbelltown Stadium to face Sydney Roosters.

But the occasion didn't go to plan, with the 26-year-old, careening straight off the congratulatory banner, rather than running through it, as intended.

After an awkward couple of seconds, Brooks was forced to run around the banner.

"The Roosters defence is so good, it had Luke Brooks covered before kick-off," tweets 'The NRL Tweet'.

To make his day even worse, Brooks and the Tigers could only watch on powerlessly, as they copped a 40-6 drubbing from the NRL competition leaders.
