Rugby league: Incoming recruit Reece Walsh reportedly wants to join NZ Warriors immediately

Incoming NZ Warriors recruit Reece Walsh wants to join the club immediately.

The highly rated fullback signed with the Warriors last week and is seen as a ready-made replacement for departing captain Roger Tuivasa-Sheckn.

Walsh signed a three-year deal that is set to kick-in next season, but NRL.com reports the 18-year-old wants out of Brisbane, so he can link up with the Warriors for the remainder of the 2021 season.

The report says the Broncos are willing to part ways with Walsh, if the Warriors provide an adequate player replacement in return - the Warriors are apparently considering this exchange.

Having Walsh develop under the tutelage of rugby-bound Tuivasa-Sheck would be ideal for the club, as it prepares for life without its talisman.

Walsh was wooed to the Warriors by consultant Phil Gould, who met with the youngster, before he committed to a three-year deal.

The Broncos development player is regarded as one of the hottest young prospects in the NRL.
