NRL 2021: Kiwis fullback Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad out for Canberra Raiders with concussion

NZ Kiwis fullback Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad has been sidelined by concussion and will miss this week's NRL encounter between Canberra Raiders and Parramatta Eels.

The Raiders No.1 left the field during the first half of their loss to Penrith Panthers last week and did not return, and is now under head injury protocols, which may keep him out of action for a couple of weeks.

His absence provides a chance for Northlander Caleb Aekins in the Canberra line-up.

Meanwhile, veteran Benji Marshall has been dropped to the South Sydney bench, after his starring role against Brisbane Broncos last week.

With Cody Walker suspended, Marshall made a spot start in the halves, scoring a try, providing a try assist and making two linebreaks in the 35-6 victory.

Another notable Kiwi selections and non-selections for this week's NRL round include:

  • Tonga international Jason Taumalolo is named to return from a broken hand for North Queensland Cowboys
  • Briton Nikora (Cronulla Sharks) and Jacob Saifiti (Newcastle Knights) return for their respective teams from suspension
