NRL 2021: Roger Tuivasa-Sheck joins NZ Warriors' century club for clash with St George Dragons

Captain Roger Tuivasa-Sheck will play his 100th game for the NZ Warriors on Sunday against the surging St George Dragons.

The round six clash will be played at Jubilee Stadium, and will also see the welcome return of several key Warriors squad members.

Puta Hiku returns after a two-week stint in the casualty ward, replacing David Fusitua on the wing, who has a minor hamstring complaint.

Bunty Afoa returns from suspension, as has Jamayne Tanoua-brown with both named on an extended bench.

Tuivasa-Sheck becomes the 26th player to reach the milestone for the club just a week after winger Ken Maumalo achieved the feat against Manly-Warringah last Friday night.

Eliesa Katoa and Bayley Sironen join Fusitua in a growing injury list that includes Addin Fonua-Blake, Euan Aitken and Chanel Harris-Tevita.

Josh Curran will start in the second row in place of Katoa with Tohu Harris once again named at prop, with Kane Evans, Ben Murdoch-Masila, Paul Turner and Afoa to add punch from the bench.

The Dragons handed the Parramatta Eels their first loss of the season on Sunday, and are planted firmly inside the top four with just one loss through five games.

The Dragons have been the Warriors’ most challenging opponents in the club’s history with St George heading the win ledger 21-9 in the 30 encounters between the two sides since they first met in 1999.

However, the Warriors have won the last four straight, starting with a 20-12 success at Mount Smart Stadium in 2016 followed by the historic 18-12 win in Wollongong in 2018, a 26-18 triumph in the Magic Round in Brisbane in 2019 and an 18-0 shutout in Gosford last year.

Warriors: 1-Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, 2-Pita Hiku, 3-Adam Pompey, 4-Marcelo Montoya, 5-Ken Maumalo, 6-Kodi Nikorima, 7-Sean O'Sullivan, 8-Leeson Ah Mau, 9-Wayde Egan, 10-Tohu Harris, 11-Josh Curran, 12-Jack Murchie, 13-Jazz Tevaga
