Super Rugby Aotearoa: Ardie Savea to miss remainder of competition with knee injury suffered against Crusaders

Ardie Savea will miss the remainder of Super Rugby Aotearoa after suffering a knee injury in the Hurricanes golden point loss to the Crusaders on Sunday.

The All Blacks loose forward will be sidelined for up to two months after tearing a medial collateral ligament in his left knee just after halftime, although he continued to play deep into the epic contest.

Savea is expected to return for the international programme, scheduled to start in early July, but he will miss the opening rounds of the joint trans-Tasman Super Rugby competition.

Savea adds to a growing injury toll among key All Blacks which includes captain Sam Cane, Joe Moody, Jack Goodhue and Patrick Tuipolotu.
