NRL 2021: NZ Kiwis hooker Brandon Smith faces two-game ban for shoulder charge on South Sydney's Damien Cook

NZ Kiwis and Melbourne Storm hooker Brandon Smith faces a two-game ban for a shoulder charge in his side's 50-0 NRL thumping of South Sydney Rabbitohs.

The match review committee has announced its findings for the Melbourne's rout over Souths, handing the NZ international a grade-one offence for a tackle on Souths hooker Damien Cook in the 46th minute.

The 24-year-old has the option of halving the suspension with an early guilty plea or fighting it at the judiciary.

Melbourne's NZ-born second row forward Felise Kaufusi was the only other player charged in the contest, cited for a grade-one dangerous contact on the head/neck of Souths fullback Cody Walker in the seventh minute.

The 28-year-old will not miss any playing time, but faces a fine of AU$1700-$2250.
