Rugby: All Blacks loose forward Hoskins Sotutu swaps Auckland for Counties Manukau

All Blacks and Blues No.8 Hoskins Sotutu is swapping Auckland for Counties Manukau, signing on with the Steelers for this year's national provincial championship.

Sotutu, 22, follows in father Waisake's footsteps in playing for the Steelers, and will link with Blues teammates Dalton Papalii and Nepo Laulala.

"I'm very excited to join Counties Manukau," Sotutu says. "Dad got his start in rugby in the region and has played for the Steelers.

"I also live in South Auckland and have a number of connections to Counties Manukau.

"I'm excited to be joining an organisation with such a passionate rugby community, and I hope to develop my leadership and grow as a player at the Steelers."

Sotutu made his All Blacks debut against Australia in a 16-all draw and went on to earn five test caps in New Zealand's Tri Nations series win.
