Tokyo Olympics: Black Ferns Sevens, All Blacks Sevens flying high at Oceania tournament in Townsville

The Black Ferns Sevens side remains unbeaten at the Olympic warmup tournament in Townsville.

The 27-12 win over Fiji on Sunday afternoon was enough to claim the trophy for the Kiwis, after four previous wins on the opening two days of the tournament.

It means, regardless of the result in their final game against Australia on Sunday night, the Commonwealth Games champions will claim the Oceania Sevens crown.

Portia Woodman and Michaela Blyde grabbed a pair of tries each, while Ruby Tui added a fifth as the Ferns turned a 22-0 halftime lead into a 27-12 win after the Fijians fought back in the second spell.

Earlier, the All Blacks Sevens completed a 17-5 win over Australia to set up a virtual final against Fiji on Sunday night.

After an early try to the hosts, William Warbrick, Caleb Clarke and Kitiona Vai crossed the line to seal a comfortable margin of victory for the reigning world champions.
