British boxing great Chris Eubank says he is "devastated" by the death of his son Sebastian, who has passed just days before his 30th birthday.

On Saturday (NZ time), the boxer and personal trainer's body was found on a beach in Dubai, where he has lived for the last few years. The circumstances around the death remain unclear.

The third oldest of Eubank's children, he had begun following in the footsteps of his father and brother - Chris Eubank Jr - into the world of professional boxing, with two victories to his name, before making the switch to MMA.

He leaves behind his wife Salma and son Raheem, who was born less than a month ago.

Eubank paid tribute to his son, saying he was a "deep thinker who liked to challenge and accepted wisdom".

"Never did I ever imagine I would write these words or experience the feeling I now have at the loss of my son," says Chris Eubank.

"My family and I are devastated to hear of the death of Sebastian just days before what would have been his 30th birthday.

"He was loved and respected by all who knew him and will be forever in the thoughts of friends and family. As a family we now kindly ask to be given space and privacy to celebrate his life and remember the son, the brother, the husband, the friend."

Sebastian’s mother Karron Meadows also reacted to the news: "Our whole family is grieving at the huge loss of our son and brother, Sebastian. Please respect our grief and privacy while we try to comprehend our loss."

Chris Eubank Jr - current WBA interim middleweight boxing world champion- took to social media, saying on Twitter: "Rest easy little brother, I love you and you will be missed always".

Former world boxing champion Joe Calzaghe also paid tribue, saying: "Really saddened to hear the news of the passing of Seb Eubank. Thoughts and Prayers to Chris and family."

In February 2018, Sebastian Eubank beat Kamil Kulczyk, in his debut fight on the undercard of his older brother's fight against George Groves.

Early last year, he made his MMA debut in a fight against Emad Hanbali in Dubai, which he won in the first round by technical knockout.
