Cricket: Blackcaps stars Lockie Ferguson, Adam Milne both take hat-tricks in English T20 Blast victories

Blackcaps fast bowlers Lockie Ferguson and Adam Milne have both taken hat-tricks and a four-wicket hauls, helping their Yorkshire and Kent sides to victories over Lancashire and Surrey respectively in the English T20 Blast.

After his Yorkshire side won the toss and batted first at Headingley, making 180/4 from their 20 overs, Ferguson came into the attack as second change - and struck third ball to remove former South Africa test wicketkeeper Dane Vilas, caught behind for one.

Then, with Lancashire needing 20 from the final over, Ferguson stepped up to help get his side over the line.

After giving away 10 runs from the first three legal deliveries, the equation for Ferguson to defend was 10 runs from three balls, with the Blackcaps bowler stepping up.

Ferguson's fourth ball saw Luke Wells caught by a stunning effort from ex-England test opener Adam Lyth running backwards, out for one run from two balls.

Needing 10 from two, new batsman Luke Wood lost his stumps, bowled for a golden duck - and effectively won Yorkshire the game.

With 10 needed from one ball, Ferguson completed the hat-trick when Tom Hartley also fell, again caught by Lyth to the final ball of the innings, as Yorkshire completed a nine run victory over their local rivals.

At the other end, Lancashire's Rob Jones could only watch, not out with 61 from 48 balls, as Ferguson finished with figures of 4/24 from his four overs.

But the Kiwi paceman didn't do enough to earn man-of-the-match, with that honour going to Yorkshire teammate Harry Brook for his unbeaten 91 from 50 balls.

Fellow Blackcap Finn Allen also hardly troubled the scorers, out for five from four balls as Lancashire's first wicket to fall.

The win sees Yorkshire sit second in the T20 Blast's North Group, with seven wins from 11 games, behind only Nottinghamshire on the table.

Lancashire meanwhile sit sixth, with 10 points from 11 games.

Elsewhere in the T20 Blast, fellow Blackcap Adam Milne also took a hat-trick in eerily similar circumstances.

Defending 12 runs from the final three balls for Kent against Surrey, Milne also bagged a hat-trick to see his side home.

Milne clean bowled England batsman Ollie Pope for 15 with the fourth ball of the final over, before removing compatriot Kyle Jamieson with the fifth ball.

Laurie Evans became Milne's hat-trick victim, and fourth wicket of the night, when he shelled a catch out to Zak Crawley on the cover boundary - sealing an 11-run win for Kent.

Milne was man-of-the-match for his troubles, finishing with figures of 4/38 from his four overs.
