NRL: South Sydney Rabbitohs run rampant against hapless NZ Warriors in 11-try rout

South Sydney have scored 11 tries in dispatching of the NZ Warriors 60-22 on the Sunshine Coast.

It marks the most points the Rabbitohs have scored in an NRL match against the New Zealand club, and extended their winning streak to seven games, as they joined the Panthers on 32 points - good enough for third spot on the ladder and are two wins away from guaranteeing a top-four spot for the playoffs.

The Warriors scored four tries in defeat, but it was all downhill after Dallin Watene-Zelezniak gave them an early lead after the Kiwis captain pounced on a loose ball, running 50m to score his second try for the club.

Six-straight tries for Souths put the game to bed early, despite a late first-half surge from the New Zealand club that saw Marcelo Montoya and Kodi Nikorima dot down.

Tom Buress (2), Cody Walker, Jaxson Paulo, Cam Murray and Jaydn Su'a all crossed for Souths, with Latrell Mitchell, Adam Reynolds, Damien Cook and Walker terrorising a limp Warriors defensive line that lacked the grit shown in defeat against the Panthers a week ago.

Trailing 34-16 at the break, the Warriors could have made a game of it with early points in the second, but Su'a scored his second try to extend the lead to 24.

Winger Josh Mansour scored a double inside two minutes as the Bunnies raised a half-century, before Chad Townsend and Reece Walsh combined for the latter to score a smart try with 15 minutes to play.

Mitchell scored five minutes from time to add to Keaon Kolomatangi's powerful effort a few minutes earlier, to complete a rampant display from the premiership contenders.

The loss leaves the Warriors three wins outside a playoff spot and with just six games to play, their hopes of playing in the finals are slim to none.

Up next for the battered Kiwi club is the Wests Tigers in Brisbane, the last side they beat back in May.

And the clubs' growing injury toll added three more on Saturday with stand-in skipper Addin Fonua-Blake, Jack Murchie and Eli Katoa all leaving the field and not returning.
