Tokyo Paralympics, August 31: Sophie Pascoe, William Stedman can bring home more medals, cyclists in action

Sophie Pascoe and William Stedman will have the chance to add to Monday's Tokyo Paralympics medal wins, on the Games' seventh day on Tuesday.

Pascoe, 28, won bronze in the women's 100m backstroke S9 on Monday - a record-extending 17th Paralympics medal - and returns to the pool at 1:43pm for her 100m freestyle S9 heats.

Should Pascoe qualify for the final, and the chance at an 18th Paralympics medal, then she'll race again at 10:14pm.

Meanwhile, fresh from his silver medal in the men's long jump T36, 21-year-old Stedman also backs up in the men's 400m T36.

Stedman won bronze in the 400m at Rio de Janeiro 2016, and will no doubt look to stand on the podium for the second time in as many days. The men's 400m final takes place at 2:20pm.

Paralympics debutant Anna Steven will get her first taste of action at 1:06pm, racing in the women's 200m T64. Should Steven qualify for the final, she will also race again at 10:52pm.

Elsewhere, New Zealand's six-strong cycling contingent hit the road for the start of their games.

Included in the cycling team is 59-year-old Eltje Malzbender, racing in the women's T1-2 time trial from 6:37pm.
