Blackcaps v Bangladesh: Swashbuckling batsman Finn Allen out of COVID-19 isolation, rejoins teammates

Swashbuckling Blackcaps batsman Finn Allen has emerged from CODID-19 isolation in Bangladesh, ready to rejoin his reeling teammates.

After the NZ side capitulated to the home team by seven wickets, scoring an equal-record low 60 runs with the bat, they will be happy to welcome Allen back, after he tested positive for the coronavirus on arrival in Dhaka last week

Fresh from stints with Lancashire and Birmignham Phoenix in England, Allen was fully vaccinated and passed pre-departure tests before boarding his plane to join the Blackcaps.

Forty-eight hours later, he displayed mild symptoms and was rushed into isolation.

"Finn Allen is back with us," declares a Blackcaps social media post. "He's returned two negative tests and is cleared to join the group."

And not a moment too soon. The Wellington Firebirds opener was the leading scorer in the domestic 'Big Bash' T20 competition last summer, helping his team defend their title.

Allen made his Blackcaps debut against Bangladesh at Hamilton in March, recording a golden duck, but bounced back to score 71 in his third outing of that same series.
