Cricket: India's summer tour of New Zealand postponed as NZC reveals mammoth managed isolation allocation

India's cricket tour of New Zealand this summer has been postponed until the 2022-23 season because of a potential bottleneck around available managed isolation slots.

The upcoming summer presents a log-jam of fixtures with three other men's teams and the ICC Women's World Cup completing the schedule.

India was due to play three one-day internationals as part of the World Cup Super League - a qualifying tournament for the 2023 Cricket World Cup.

Newshub understands India have agreed to the rescheduling and the series will be fulfilled next year - after the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia.

The 2021-22 Blackcaps home campaign will now see them play Bangladesh, the Netherlands and South Africa, while the White Ferns will take on seven other international sides in the 50-over World Cup from March 4.

NZC confirms 181 MIQ spots have been confirmed for all touring parties.

The Blackcaps are in the midst of a hectic schedule that won't see the team return home until early December following a two test, three T20 tour of India.

With a two-week quarantine keeping them in isolation until just before Christman, there will be no Boxing Day fixture this year, with the home summer kicking off on December 28 against Bangladesh.
