Cricket: Live updates - Blackcaps v Bangladesh, Third T20 from Dhaka

New Zealand 128/5 (Nicholls 36, Blundell 30, Saifuddin 2/28)
Bangladesh 76 ( Mushfiqur 20no, Patel 4/16, McConchie 3/15)

New Zealand win by 52 runs. Bangladesh lead five match series 2-1

Ajaz Patel's four wickets, coupled with fighting knocks from Tom Blundell and Henry Nicholls have lifted New Zealand to a 52-run win against Bangladesh in the third T20 in Dhaka.

Patel took 4/16 as the Blackcaps rolled the hosts for 76, after setting 129 for the Tigers to seal a series win.

Backed up by Cole McConchie 3/15 and Rachin Ravindra 1/13, New Zealand's spin attack proved too good for a Bangladeshi batting lineup that looked in a hurry.

Patel grabbed the key wicket of Shakib Al Hasan (0) in his second over - just three balls after removing Mahedi Hasan (1) as Bangladesh crumbled to 25/3.

By the end of the 10th over Patel had four wickets and the hosts were reduced to 43/6 and the result was in the bag for the Kiwis.

Earlier Blundell (30no) and Nicholls (36no) rebuilt an inning threatening to fall apart.

The pair added an unbeaten 67 for the sixth wicket in the Blackcaps' 128/5 after they were reduced to 62/5 in the 11th over.

Promising innings' from Finn Allen (16), Rachin Ravindra (20), and Will Young (20) were thrown away, and when captain Tom Latham (5) fell, New Zealand had lost 4/16.

But Blundell and Nicholls resisted playing aggressive shots until the final five over flurry of 46 runs to lift the Blackcaps to a competitive score.

The teams play again in Dhaka on Wednesday night.

9:37pm - New Zealand has won the toss and will bat first - team lists coming shortly.

Hello folks and welcome to Newshub's live coverage of the third of five T20 internationals between New Zealand and Bangladesh in Dhaka.

The Blackcaps find themselves in must-win territory tonight, but they are coming off the back of a much-improved performance in game two - taking the game to the final ball.

Tom Latham with the bat and Rachin Ravindra with the ball were the standouts for New Zealand and both will play key roles again tonight.

Expect Finn Allen to get a start - possibly for Tom Blundell at the top of the order, while Hamish Bennett and Doug Bracewell were disappointing with the ball in game two, which may see Matt Henry get a run.

First ball from 10pm

TAB odds: Bangladesh $1.47, New Zealand $2.50
