A-League: Wellington Phoenix men's clash with Central Coast Mariners postponed due to COVID-19 protocols

The Wellington Phoenix's A-League Men's match against Central Coast Mariners has been postponed due to COVID-19 protocols.

Positive cases of coronavirus have been detected within the Gosford-based club and as a result, Monday's match has been postponed.

The Central Coast men's squad and management are in isolation awaiting results of further testing.

The A-League confirmed the women's match between the Phoenix and the Newcastle Jets will still go ahead at the same venue, albeit behind closed doors.

All positive cases involve double-vaccinated individuals who tested positive to PCR tests on December 26 and 27.

The A-League says their primary concern is for the health, wellbeing and safety of all players, staff and their families across both the men's and women's competitions, especially over the Christmas period.

The postponement follows the Phoenix's FFA Cup quarter-final against Melbourne City last week, which was also suspended due to positive COVID cases in the opposition camp.
