Netball: Members of Silver Ferns squad test positive for COVID-19 after return from London

More than one member of the Silver Ferns has tested positive for COVID-19 after their return to New Zealand from England.

The Silver Ferns last week travelled back from London, where the team had competed in a Quad Series, and are now staying in Managed Isolation Quarantine (MIQ).

In a statement on Friday, Netball New Zealand's head of high performance Keir Hansen confirmed that members of the travelling group had returned positive tests as part of routine testing while in MIQ.

"The affected members of the travelling party are being managed in accordance with MIQ procedures and Ministry of Health guidance and being supported by Silver Ferns medical staff," Netball NZ says.

"Every person in the touring party following strict protocols while in London and returned a negative pre-departure test prior to their travel back to New Zealand."

Netball New Zealand have not disclosed details as to which members of the touring party have tested positive.

While in London, the Silver Ferns finished third in the Quad Series, losing to England and Australia before defeating South Africa twice.
