Kia ora, good morning and welcome to Newshub's live coverage of the second test between the Blackcaps and South Africa at Christchurch's Hagley Oval.

Chasing their historic maiden series victory over the Proteas, New Zealand have been on the back foot since the first day, when the visitors showed much-improved form from their first-test debacle and gained control of the match.

On day three, all-rounder Colin de Grandhomme's unbeaten century brought his side back into the contest and the Blackcaps bowlers already have half the South African batting order back in the pavillion for the second innings.

On Monday morning, the home side must take quick wickets and mop up the South African tail, then begin reducing their deficit in quest of victory - or at least a draw to clinch the series victory.
