NRL 2022: New South Wales Police investigating brawl between Broncos teammates Payne Haas, Albert Kelly shared on social media

New South Wales Police are investigating a late-night brawl between Brisbane Broncos teammates Payne Haas and Albert Kelly, filmed and shared on social media.

The melee was understood to have occurred after the Broncos' 16-10 NRL round two victory over Canterbury Bulldogs, with Haas seen punching with Kelly and calling him a "f****** c***".

Kelly can be heard asking: "Why would I step on your shoes?"

Brisbane's Courier Mail reports Haas, 22, has told police he was not under the influence of alcohol during the incident, but the star front-rower is currently serving a good-behaviour bond, after being found to have intimidated police and using offensive language. NSW Police have launched an investigation into the incident, with the Broncos and NRL integrity unit doing the same.

Haas was also fined and stood down by the Broncos in 2019 for refusing to cooperate with an NRL integrity unit investigation, before last year's incident also saw him handed a three-match ban.

The pair are understood to face fines and potential suspensions from the NRL.

The Broncos are no strangers to fighting between teammates. At the end of their 2021 season, teammates Thomas Flegler and Jordan Riki were involved in a punch-up, with Raglan-born Riki requiring stitches.
