Cricket: Blackcaps star Devon Conway earns Man of the Match with third straight IPL half century

In-form Blackcaps batter Devon Conway has produced another matchwinning performance for Chennai Super Kings in their Indian Premier League win over Delhi Capitals.

Conway blasted 87 runs off just 49 balls to record his third consecutive half-century and spearhead the Super Kings' imposing total of 208/6.

The Capitals struggled to keep pace with the run rate early, before collapsing for a meagre 117, handing the Super Kings a commanding 91-run victory.

Part of a 110-run opening wicket partnership with Ruturaj Gaikwad (41 off 33 balls), Conway's innings included seven fours and five sixes, and earned him man-of-the-match honours.

The performance continued a purple patch of form for the South-African born New Zealander, which features scores of 56 and 85 not out in the space of four days last week.

In his four knocks so far this season, Conway has now scored 231 runs at an average of 57.75, after being bought for only NZ$200,000 at this year's auction.

Now sitting eighth in the overall standings, the win keeps Chennai's hopes of a top-four finish alive.
