The Blackcaps' preparations for their upcoming test series against England have been hit, with three members of their touring party testing positive for COVID-19.

Just hours before taking to the field against Sussex in a warm-up fixture in Brighton, batter Henry Nicholls, bowler Blair Tickner and bowling coach Shane Jurgensen have all returned positive tests.

The trio will now undergo a five-day isolation period. The positive tests will see Tickner out of consideration to face Sussex, with Nicholls already ruled out as he recovers from a calf injury.

The rest of the Blackcaps' touring party have returned negative tests, but will continue to be monitored.

Friday's four-day warm-up fixture against Sussex will continue as planned, as the Blackcaps prepare for the first of three tests against England, beginning at Lord's on June 2.
