Golf: Ryan Fox drops into share of 10th place after second round at British Masters

Kiwi Ryan Fox has let his advantage slip at the British Masters at England's The Belfry course, carding a second round one-over.

On Friday (NZ time) Fox shot a first round six-under 66 for a share of the lead with Denmark's Thorbjorn Olesen.

But with a second round containing three birdies, three bogeys and one double bogey, Fox has dropped into a four-way tie for 10th place, alongside China's Ashun Wu, Finland's Mikko Korhonen and England's Paul Warning.

German's Hurly Long holds the outright lead at the halfway stage of the British Masters, after a second round four-under took him top of the leaderboard by one shot, and four shots ahead of Fox.

Fox's now former co-leader Olesen is currently tied for second place at eight-under after a two-under second round, and sits alongside Sweden's Marcus Kinhult and Scotland's Richie Ramsay.

The Kiwi is playing this year's British Masters on the back of his ninth placing at the Catalunya Championships and 15th and the ISPS Handa Championship, which were both held in Spain over the past fortnight.

Those were his first events since taking a two-month break, following his win at the Ras Al Khaimah Classic tournament in the United Arab Emirates in February.
