The Black Sticks men's trans-Tasman hockey series against Australia has been postponed due to cases of COVID-19 in the NZ camp.

On Friday, Hockey NZ announced the four-test series would be delayed three weeks, with games now taking place during the week of Queen's Birthday on May 31, June 2, 4 and 5.

The women's series will go ahead as originally planned on May 10, 12, 14 and 15.

The series will mark the first international hockey in over a year on NZ soil as well as 100 years since the first match between the two countries.

The matches will provide a valuable and much-needed warm-up for the Commonwealth Games at Birmingham, England, which start in July.

All of the games will be played at the National Hockey Centre on Auckland's North Shore.
