The Central Pulse have confirmed star shooter Aliyah Dunn will not be back for the 2023 ANZ Premiership season, just days after guiding the side to a title.

Dunn has been an integral part of the Pulse, and has been one of the most accurate shooters in the competition over the past four seasons.

The 22-year-old feels it is the right time to take on a new challenge in a fresh environment after becoming a keg cog in Pulse machine that ran away with the championship.

"I have loved my time at the Pulse and I want to thank them for everything they have done for me over the past five seasons. However, I think a freshen-up of a new environment would benefit me, so that I can continue to keep growing," she said.

Pulse coach Yvette McCausland-Durie and Netball Central Director of High Performance Wai Taumaunu praised Dunn for all her efforts in the yellow dress.

"Aliyah is a much loved and highly valued member of our club," Taumaunu said.

"We are sad to see her go but understand and fully support her desire for new challenges and change as she pursues her desire to be a Silver Fern.  We wish her well and thank her for her sterling service," Pulse coach Yvette McCausland-Durie said.

The Pulse will announce their squad for the new season later this week.
