State of Origin: NZ Warriors teen Reece Walsh returns to Queensland's wider squad

NZ Warriors fullback Reece Walsh has returned to the Queensland State of Origin squad for game two of their three-match series against New South Wales.

Walsh was left out of coach Billy Slater's plans for the first game of the series this month, as Queensland took a 1-0 series lead with a 16-10 victory at Sydney.

But the teen has been recalled into the Maroons camp for Sunday's rematch, added to an extended bench in the No.22 jersey.

Walsh's recall comes a year after his previous taste of Origin action - a shock call-up for game two of the 2021 series.

However, a hamstring injury in training scuppered his debut chances, with fullback Kalyn Ponga returning for the series finale, as New South Wales took a 2-1 win.

In other changes, North Queensland Cowboys winger Murray Taulagi has his first call-up, replacing Xavier Coates in the No.5 jersey.

Gold Coast forward Tino Fa'asuamaleaui moves from the front row to lock, with Sydney Roosters prop Lindsay Collins moving to prop in his place, after starting the series-opener on the bench.

Reuben Cotter drops out of the side altogether, after suffering a hamstring injury playing for the Cowboys last weekend. On the bench, Jai Arrow takes Collins' place.
