Live updates: NRL 2022 - NZ Warriors v Canberra Raiders from GIO Stadium, Canberra

WARRIORS  14  RAIDERS  26

FULLTIME

80min - Walsh tries to go short with the line dropout but sends it over the sideline and the Warriors concede the penalty. Fogarty will eat the clock and knock over the penalty goal. And that's fulltime!

78min - Fogarty shows the ball but decides to hang on and ride the tackle of Johnson. They grubber through, the ball evades everyone and Harawira-Naera knocks on in his attempt to grab a hat-trick after Walsh fumbled it forward.

76min - Warriors try to go short with the line dropout but the Raiders are up to it and take in a tough high ball. Young is tackled just a few metres out before Harawira-Naera goes close.

74min - Raiders looking to just close out the game out now, keeping it tight with their forwards. Tapine charges before Walsh is forced to play at a kick through and concede the dropout.

72min - Warriors desperately need a score but right now the Raiders look the more likely. Tapine offloads before Harawire-Naera knocks on in a great tackle by Aitken. Nevermind - bunker rules the ball was stripped. Fogarty makes no mistake with the penalty goal.

70min - Tapine has been everywhere for the Raiders as he makes another strong carry. Wighton with another impressive kick to pin the Warriors back inside their own 10m.

68min - RAIDERS TRY HARAWIRA-NAERA

Raiders hot on attack once again as Tapine tries to find a support runner but can't do so. Fogarty puts the grubber through, Harris-Tavita tries to knock it dead but misses, and Harawira-Naera dives on the loose ball to score his second in two minutes. Incredible.

66min - RAIDERS TRY HARAWIRA-NAERA

Fogarty finds a charging Harawira-Naera, he easily beats a would-be-tackler and he dives over for the game-tying try. He celebrates on the ground, as the Warriors continue to fade. Fogarty nails the extras and the Raiders now lead.

64min - Walsh is pacing up and down the sideline, begging to come on. Wighton eyes up another 40/20 and he nails it! He's got the ball on a string right now.

62min - Raiders playing with their tails up now. Fogarty goes high with the kick but Montoya takes it easily. Warriors seem to be fading...they probably need another score.

60min - RAIDERS TRY KRIS

Raiders are just a metre out here! Tapine charges onto it but Harris is up to the challenge to keep him out. They switch right to Savage, he rides the tackle and sends Kris over for the try. Raiders right back in this!

58min - Wighton tries a kick for Kris to challenge and the centre does well to get to the ball but Watene-Zelezniak does enough to force him to knock it on.

56min - Fogarty launches the spiral kick but Harris-Tavita takes it easily before running it back. Warriors doing enough to keep the Raiders out - can they keep it up?

54min - Hopoate almost breaks the line but slips up in the tackle before the Warriors do well to scramble and contain him. Meanwhile, Savage is limping following his electric run.

52min - Johnson kicks through for a chasing Arthars but Cotric does well to fall on the loose ball tracking back to his own try line. Wighton tries for another 40/20 but this time can't connect.

50min - Warriors concede the penalty and the Raiders quickly work their way insides the visitors' 20m. Timoko beats a number of players before Fogarty's kick is taken in brilliantly by Watene-Zelezniak. Made a difficult catch look far too easy.

48min - Montoya does so well to catch a Wighton floater, diving forward to claim the high ball. Elliot is penalised for a crusher-style tackle on Harris-Tavita.

46min - Egan  looks to be struggling here at the play of the ball. Guler seemed to have connected with his ribcage as he was going down. But he's up and plays the ball.

44min - RAIDERS TRY HOPOATE

The Raiders switch to the right side. Timoko shows good strength to hold himself up with several Warriors players on him, he offloads to Hopoate and the winger stretches and scores his first try in the NRL. Great response from Canberra.

42min - We're back underway here at Canberra. Wighton puts everything into his kick and Montoya struggles to deal with and the Raiders have a great attacking platform just 10m out.

HALFTIME

40min - Raiders pinged for being offside and the Warriors will have one final flurry. Harris' play of the ball isn't fast enough however and that's halftime!

40min - Raiders piling on the pressure with just over a minute left but again the Warriors defence are up to it and force Wighton to make the error.

38min - Johnson's kick looks to have hit the side of the boot and travels into touch on the full. His first mistake of the first half - been excellent with the boot otherwise.

36min - Fogarty kicks on the third tackle, looking for the 40/20 but doesn't get the bounce and the Warriors will get the ball instead. Can they score once more before the break?

34min - Young makes a good run, but Warriors do well to wrap him up. Raiders go high with the kick and Montoya attacks the ball and does brilliantly to gather it in his stride.

32min - Tapine spins out of a couple of tackles and tries the miracle offload but can only find a Warriors player. More great scrambling defence from the visitors.

30min - Whitehead shows good heads up play to dive on a lazy play of the ball and the Raiders are awarded the ball after Warriors are adjudged to have knocked on.

28min - Watene-Zelezniak almost loses the ball from the kick-off but instead takes it in his stride and he's through a hole! He's finally dragged down just over halfway, before Wighton nails Harris-Tavita in a ball-in-all tackle but knocks on in the process.

26min - Wighton is penalised and the Warriors toss up their options. Johnson will have a shot at goal, just over 40 metres out or so to the right. Johnson lines it up and nails it!

24min - Afoa shows good feet but is stopped a solid tackle. Johnson's kick is knocked back by Watene-Zelezniak but Arthars knocks on. Close call there. They were only a metre out.

22min - Tevaga guilty of a loose carry as the Warriors are unsuccessful in their challenge of a potential strip. Timoko goes very close after a great run. Tapine's pass can't find a support player and Kris knocks on trying to pick up the loose ball. More great defence!

20min - Papalii and Tapine combine well and Elliot shows good feet to go close! He looks to be over the tryline but some gutsy Warriors defence keeps him out. This is great from the visitors.

18min - Raiders playing a bit of hot potato on the first tackle but they're just a metre out from the tryline! Fogarty's kick is taken in well by Arthars and the Warriors survive. Great defence.

16min - Wighton's grubber kick is a tricky one for Harris-Tavita and it looks to have bounced over him and rolls dead. The bunker is having a look at potential foul play and Tevaga is going to be penalised for impeding Wighton.

16min - Harris with another run, he's been everywhere. Johnson goes high with a huge spiral and Savage is there again to field it in-goal for the tap restart. Looked to have got away from him but he did well to gather it in.

14min - Harris-Tavita goes high to attack the kick and is taken out by Cotric in the air! Ref awards the penalty, much to the boos of the home fans.

12min - Harris shows the ball and the Warriors are quickly into the Raiders half before Johnson kicks. This time it's too far and Savage takes it in-goal for a quick restart.

10min - Warriors enjoying all the ball right now as Fonua-Blake charges the ball over halfway. Johnson puts the ball high but Cotric does well to field it and give the Raiders their first set.

8min - WARRIORS TRY ASI

Montoya gets up after slipping a tackle and the Warriors are just a few metres out. Asi gets the ball, shows the dummy and beats a tackle to go over for the try! What a start for the Warriors! Raiders are yet to touch the ball on attack.

6min - Fonua-Blake again takes up the first hit up from the kick-off. Asi tries the big fend but is contained well. Asi gets it back and kicks VERY HIGH AND LONG and Savage can't track it and knocks it on right on his own tryline. Actually seemed to hit him square in the head.

4min - WARRIORS TRY MURCHIE

Fogarty guilty of not letting Pompey play the ball and concedes the penalty. Warriors tap and are just 5m out. A charging Aitken goes close before Murchie slips a tackle, gets up to have another crack and reaches out for the game's opening try!

2min - Fonua-Blake gets the first hit-up and charges into a solid Raiders defence. Johnson's kick finds Cotric and the Warriors' chase does well to tackle him and force the line dropout.

5:00pm - The green machine's fans begin their Viking clap as the Raiders march onto the paddock. Should be a close encounter!

4:58pm - We're just a few minutes away from kick-off here! The Warriors are making their way onto the pitch. Also a late change, Jackie Murchie has been promoted to the run-on side.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kia ora, good evening and welcome to Newshub's live coverage of this NRL round 19 clash, as Canberra Raiders host NZ Warriors from Canberra's GIO Stadium.

The Warriors are coming off a loss to Parramatta Eels, but are sitting just one spot below tonight's opponents in 12th on the NRL ladder.

Departing star Reece Walsh has been benched for the clash, with Chanel Harris-Tavita preferred at fullback.

Harris-Tavita was man-of-the-match in the No.1 jersey in their victory over Wests Tigers earlier this month, after Walsh was ruled out with COVID-19.

Daejarn Asi returns to the halves to partner Shaun Johnson, and will make his fifth appearance of the season since his mid-season switch from North Queensland Cowboys.

There's also the welcomed return of Dallin Watene-Zelezniak on the wing, who missed the defeat to the Eels after testing positive for COVID-19.

The Warriors last met the Raiders in April, when a Johnson field goal gave the Auckland side a 21-20 golden point victory.

A win won't see the Warriors climb the ladder, but could go a long way to reducing the current six-point gap between them and the Raiders.
