Football: France, Juventus star Paul Pogba claims extortion threats from organised crime - including brother

French football star Paul Pogba has reported extortion threats from organised crime - including explosive claims by brother Mathias - to French and Italian authorities.

Pogba's lawyers have issued a statement claiming the matter is under investigation and their client will not comment further.

In online videos, Mathias Pogba claims he will publish further "great revelations" about the 2018 World Cup hero, who has transferred from Manchester United to the Italian powerhouse this season.

"The whole world, as well as my brother's fans, and even more so the French team and Juventus, my brother's teammates and his sponsors deserve to know certain things," says Mathias Pogba, who claims agent Rafela Pimenta will be also be implicated. 

French news agency AFP reports French authorities have opened an investigation.

"They are in addition to threats and extortion attempts by an organised gang against Paul Pogba," say his lawyers. "The competent bodies in Italy and France were informed a month ago, and there will be no further comments in relation to the ongoing investigation."
