Live coverage has concluded, please click here for the full wrap.

11:50am

It doesn't look like we'll hear from Parker just yet.

That should conclude our coverage for this morning.

Thanks for joining us, and stay tuned for a wrap of the action!

11:46am

Joyce is (naturally) the first fighter to speak.

"Joseph Parker, what a fighter, what a great fight," he says.

"It was a tough fight. Credit to Joseph Parker, because he's improved. What a tough fight.

"I enjoyed it, it was tough in there. I had to dig deep to get through the rounds. I really enjoyed it though.

"I hit him with everything I've got. Literally, the kitchen sink, the handbag, everything.

"I managed to drop him at the end, but it was hard work."

11:38am

Joyce is awarded the belt, and Parker congratulates him again.

Really good to see the sportsmanship from the Kiwi after such a tough defeat.

11:36am

Parker is back on his feet, and congratulates Joyce on his win.

Great to see the respect between the two fighters.

11:33am

A great win for Joe Joyce.

He takes the WBO's interim heavyweight title, and puts himself into contention to challenge Oleksandr Usyk.

Parker meanwhile suffers his third career loss, and first since 2018.

ROUND ELEVEN

Two huge rounds coming up. Joyce leads on the scorecards, but Parker is going nowhere.

Huge start from Joyce, and Parker looks in trouble again. Joyce connects to the head and Parker is down! This could be it!

It is! Joseph Parker has been knocked out and Joe Joyce wins!!!

ROUND TEN

We're back. Good signs from Parker last round.

Parker's eye still giving him trouble, Joyce goes for it.

Joyce glances a right hand, but Parker is still on his feet. Huge guts from Parker here.

Parker does well to land a couple of shots, but Joyce doesn't appear to be in any trouble.

Parker throws a couple more shots, to end the round, and possibly win it?

ROUND NINE

Parker's team work to sort the cut over his eye. He'll continue though.

We're back underway, and Joyce just needs to see this out from here.

Parker does land a good uppercut, but Joyce responds.

Joyce continues on the front foot, but Parker connects with another solid right.

Final seconds of the round. That could be one for Parker?

ROUND EIGHT

Joyce is in control of this now. Parker needs a stoppage.

Parker is still bleeding above his eye, and Joyce comes for him right away. The reach advantage is key now, Parker is starting to look desperate.

Joyce lands a big right as Parker battles to stay off the ropes. Joyce is warned not to drag Parker down.

The bell goes, and it's another round for Joyce.

ROUND SEVEN

That's halfway. All up, it's probably 4-2 in Joyce's favour. Can Parker respond?

He can! Parker lands a huge right to start the round. Joyce stays patient, and then starts to attack midway through the round.

Joyce lands a couple of good shots, as does Parker, but the Brit is ahead.

Joyce has Parker on the ropes! Parker survives for now, but Joyce is back at him.

Parker is cut too! Joyce can smell - and see - blood.

The round ends, but Parker is in serious trouble.

ROUND SIX

Parker starting to look tired. Joyce has Parker in trouble right away!

Joyce lands punch after punch to start the sixth, but Parker is staying on his feet.

Parker is back in the corner to end the round, but Joyce's reach is telling.

That's the end of the round, another for Joyce.

ROUND FIVE

We go again. Probably 2-2 at the moment.

Joyce comes out swinging, Parker looks happy to fight on the counter. Parker does get called for a low blow this time, as Joyce stays on him.

Joyce throws a huge right, but doesn't connect. Parker's speed looks like his biggest strength at the moment.

Both fighters land a couple of shots to the body, and the round comes to an end.

Hard to call that round. Probably one for Joyce.

ROUND FOUR

We're back, can Parker get back into this? Parker starts as the aggressor now, and lands a shot to the body that looked low. Referee says nothing though.

Parker connects with his right to Joyce's chin, and he keeps coming. Parker lands another to the chin, and Joyce throws a couple back the Kiwi's way.

That's the end of the round, probably Parker's best so far! His round.

ROUND THREE

Round three, how does Parker respond? Andy Lee was telling him to stand his ground.

Joyce comes forward again. Parker lands a shot to the body but Joyce gets him on the counter.

Parker looks in trouble here, Joyce is landing some heavy blows!

Parker survives, and throws a couple back at Joyce. Still a minute to go in the round.

A couple of shots to the body from Parker, but Joyce responds well. Parker lands a shot to the head to end the round though!

The bell goes, and Tyson Fury is celebrating that one! Joyce's round though, you feel.

ROUND TWO

And we're back for round two!

Joyce starts the round as the aggressor. Both fighters are connecting, but Joyce's reach is proving effective.

Parker lands a couple of good shots, and looks for a huge overhand right, but can't connect.

Joyce seems happy to keep his distance and control the pace. That's the end of the round.

You'd probably have to give that one to Joyce.

ROUND ONE

And we're away! Parker is keen to start on the front foot. Joyce is happy to stay back and use his reach.

Parker lands a couple of jabs, as does Joyce. It'll take something to knock either of these two down, though.

Parker gets on the front foot again, but Jouce is happy to weather the storm, before he counters.

Parker is forced back, and Joyce wraps. Parker lands some good blows to end the round.

That's the end of the first round. Probably have to give it to Parker.

Just.

10:51am

Referee Gray gives the pre-fight instructions, and we're away!

10:50am

England's Steve Gray is the referee for tonight. England's Michael Alexander, Australian Phil Austin and American Patrick Morley will be the three judges.

10:49am

Here we go then! Both fighters in the ring, getting some last minute advice from their camps.

Parker is booed as he's introduced. He's fought in front of more hostile crowds than this though, namely the 90,000 at Cardiff back in 2018.

10:46am

Joyce is introduced. Big support from the crowd for their compatriot.

10:45am

Joyce is next. He's got the height, reach and weight on Parker - but the Kiwi is the more experienced of the two, by far.

10:43am

And Parker is introduced to Manchester Arena.

'Kings' by 6 Figures is his walkout song for tonight.

Parker is looking very relaxed as he makes his way to the ring.

10:40am

And Parker will be the first to make his way to the ring.

Tyson Fury stands as part of the Parker team.

10:39am

They are now playing 'Sweet Caroline' at Manchester Arena...

Make of that what you wil...

10:36am

Now we wait for the main event.

Both Joseph Parker and Joe Joyce are going through their final preparations.

Not long now!

Fight card:
Joseph Parker v Joe Joyce (heavyweight)
Amanda Serrano beat Sarah Mahfoud (for IBF, WBC and WBO women's featherweight titles)
Nathan Heaney beat Jack Flatley (middleweight)

James Heneghan beat Rod Douglas Jr (middleweight)
Callum Thompson beat Delmar Thomas (lightweight)

10:30am

It's unanimous, Serrano takes the victory - and the IBF, WBC and WBO featherweight titles!

Huge embrace from both fighters, that was a proper bout.

10:28am

We're into the final round between Serrano and Mahfoud.

Mahfoud has gotten better as the rounds went on, but Serrano should have a comfortable lead on the scorecards.

The final bell goes, and we'll head to the judges.

10:12am

We're into the fifth round between Serrano and Mahfoud.

That should push the main event back to around 11am, but we'll let you know as soon as we find out.

9:53am

One undercard fight to come, Amanda Serrano will square off against Sarah Mahfoud.

The winner will take the IBF, WBC and WBO women's featherweight titles.

9:41am

The middleweight fight between Nathan Heaney and Jack Flatley has had to be stopped.

An accidental head clash has left Heaney with a pretty nasty cut over his left eye.

We'll go to the scorecards, and Heaney is awarded the victory by unanimous decision to keep the IBO middleweigh title.

9:13am

A couple of undercard fights to come, and then we're into the main event.

9:06am

The super featherweight clash between Michael Magnesi and Anthony Cacace will also go to the scorecards, with both fighters still standing after 12 rounds.

Cacace's camp seem confident, but it's a split decision.

Cacace's done enough though, he takes the victory, and the IBO super featherweight title.

8:50am

We're now into the undercard fight between superweights Michael Magnesi and Anthony Cacace.

In the meantime, Tyson Fury has made it very clear which camp he's in tonight!

8:01am

Essuman v Antwi goes to the judges' scorecards. This'll be close.

Bit of a wait for a decision to come.

And it's a unanimous victory for Essuman. Best fight of the card, so far.

7:21am

Ekow Essuman v Samuel Antwi is currently underway as the next fight of the card, but Tyson Fury has arrived to support Parker later on!

6:52am

Wow! The next fight is stopped in the first round, as England's Mark Heffron takes a convincing win over Argentina's Martin Bulacio!

6:40am

In the first fight of the morning, England's Raven Chapman has convincingly beaten Jorgelina Guanini of Argentina, in a bout that went the full eight rounds.

All three judges sided in Chapman's favour, giving her the WBC international featherweight title.

6:00am

Good morning! Here's hoping daylight saving hasn't hit you too hard! We've got a huge card on our hands today, with 11 fights.

Parker v Joyce is the last of those, expected at around (we hope) 10:30am.

Stay tuned until then though, as we bring you all the action.

*******

Kia ora, good morning and welcome to Newshub's live coverage of this WBO interim heavyweight title fight between Joseph Parker and Joe Joyce, from Manchester's AO Arena.

More than four years on from losing his WBO heavyweight title to Anthony Joshua, Joseph Parker is back in the frame to challenge again.

Victory - for either fighter - opens the door for a shot at current title holder Oleksandr Usyk, as the mandatory challenger for the WBO title.

Parker's career record stands at 30-2 from his 32 fights, but hasn't been beaten since 2018. Joyce meanwhile has never been beaten as a professional, with a record of 14-0 and 13 victories by knockout.

Both fighters have tipped the scales at career-heaviest weights. Parker weighed in at just shy of 116kg, while Joyce was 123kg.

And with Joyce holding the advantage in height, reach and weight, Parker is naturally a heavy underdog for Sunday's bout.

The main event is expected to get underway at 10:30am NZ time.

TAB odds: Parker $2.50, Joyce $1.44, draw $19

'Going to be world champion again': Parker's promoter says best yet to come

James Regan

Joseph Parker fans can look forward to a blockbuster bundle of fights over the next couple of years, with promoter Ben Shalom confident the best is yet to come.

Shalom, CEO of BOXXER, who signed Parker in June, told Newshub the former world champion is destined for more major fight nights, and he's determined to make them happen, with his career well and truly on the up.

"He's now in a place I think he's never been before," Shalom said. "The heavyweight division is on fire, there's so many opportunities."

The next step in the journey back to the top starts on Sunday (NZT) against undefeated brit Joe Joyce at Manchester.

Parker's trainer, Andy Lee has already said the WBO interim title fight could be an easy one if the game plan is executed right.

Shalom shares that same optimism when it comes to the Kiwi heavyweight.

"We just see so much long term growth for Joseph, we feel he's going to be in some huge fights in the next few years," he said. "We think he's going to be a second time world champion which would be amazing."

Shalom revealed an attempt to fight Whyte was made earlier this year, but early 2023 now looks more likely, depending of course, how this weekend unfolds, with a rematch clause also in should Parker emerge victorious.

"We wanted to make the Dillian Whyte fight," he said. "Dillian doesn't necessarily want that this year but that's a fight that's bound to happen early next year as well. It's huge, huge times for Joseph Parker.

"Whatever happens on Saturday, he's going to be in some big fights. It's one thing being a great fighter but he's now a big name. He's a big draw over here, people want to fight him."

Parker himself has been vocal about a Whyte rematch, after he suffered his second career defeat to the Brit under controversial circumstances in 2018, with Whyte appearing to headbutt his opponent at one stage.

"I think one thing that sticks out is, he is a different fighter to the one that fought Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte. He's got that experience to take into those big fights," Shalom said.

The connection with coach Lee and Tyson Fury in the UK has reignited Parker's career, with his improvement between the two fights against Derek Chisora visible.

To the naked eye, he's fitter, faster, leaner and carrying an air of confidence about him, and Lee says he has so much more to give.

"He still hasn't fulfilled his potential, I think there's a lot more to come. He's determined now more than ever," Lee told BT Sport.

"I don't know what his ceiling is because he's reaching new levels all the time.

"I think Joe (Parker) is motivated by the fact everyone's picking Joyce to win the fight and they've got Joseph as the underdog. As a former world champion, I think he wants to prove his class and show he's an elite heavyweight."

The fight comes at a time when the hype around the heavyweight division is electric, with Parker well in the mix when it comes to both fighting for belts, and box office fights.

Although the bout is on BT Sport in the UK, Parker's future lies with Sky Sport after signing a long term deal with BOXXER, a relatively new promotional outfit, who are out to shake up boxing.

"We were just young boxing fans from Manchester. In the UK, it's always been the same promoters, in the US as well, family run businesses since the 80's, where it would be very difficult to bring any new ideas and new energy into the sport," Shalom explains.

"In the first few years, half the battle was how can we break into the market, how can we develop our own ideas based around more transparency, more opportunity for fighters, making the sport easier to understand.

"We made a promise to ourselves that we weren't going to go after the big names at the end of their careers, we wanted to build our own stars.

So, why Joseph Parker?

"When we looked at Joseph, he's been around for so long and he was such a young world champion, but he's still only 20 years old and when you look at the heavyweight division, that's such a young age," Shalom said.

"To be able to get a fighter like Joseph with a new training team and I always felt that changed things for him in terms of his diet, approach and everything like that, we feel like we're getting a very fresh fighter, one that's not taken damage at all."
