Rugby League World Cup: Michael Maguire names two NZ Kiwis debutants in rotated side to face Jamaica

NZ Kiwis coach Michael Maguire has handed out two test debuts in his side for Sunday's Rugby League World Cup clash against Jamaica in Hull.

With six changes to a rotated starting line-up for New Zealand's second match of the tournament, Canberra Raiders centre Sebastian Kris will make his test debut on the wing, in place of Ronaldo Mulitalo.

Kris, 23, made his official Kiwis debut in the 74-0 warm-up victory over Leeds earlier this month, but Sunday's encounter will be his first test match for New Zealand.

Meanwhile, on the bench, Penrith Panthers' double premiership-winning forward Scott Sorensen will also debut in the No.23 jersey.

Scott isn't the only Sorensen to represent the Kiwis either. Grandfather Bill and uncles Kurt and Dane have also represented New Zealand at test level, as has second cousin twice removed Dave Sorensen.

In the other changes to the side, Marata Niukore comes in to partner Peta Hiku in the centres, after starting on the bench against Lebanon, while Dallin Watene-Zelezniak lines up on the right wing.

In the forwards, Moses Leota replaces Jesse Bromwich, handing the captaincy to front row partner James Fisher-Harris. Leota was initially named to face Lebanon, only to be scratched by a late injury.

In the second row, Briton Nikora is moved into the starting side, seeing Isaiah Papali'i drop to the interchange.

Sunday's clash is New Zealand's second of this World Cup, after opening with a 34-12 victory over Lebanon on Monday.
