Rugby League World Cup: Week two review - Tonga, Samoa on track for blockbuster quarter-final showdown

The second round of the Rugby League World Cup is all but in the bag, meaning business time is almost upon us in the UK.

Tonga recorded a comfortable 32-6 win over the Welsh and will round out their group fixtures against Cook Islands on Monday.

Samoa looked much more cohesive in their crushing win over minnows Greece. Their last group match against France also takes place on Monday and should set up a mouthwatering quarter-final clash against Mate Ma'a.

Meanwhile, the Kiwis will complete pool play against Ireland on Saturday morning. Coming off the back of an expectedly emphatic victory over Jamaica last weekend, they'll likely lock up the top of Group C and book a date with the Fijians in the quarter-finals.

England looked impressive yet again, with Victor Radely and John Bateman forming a formidable duo with the knockout rounds looming.

And the biggest challenge facing Australia coach Mal Meninga's biggest issue may be having to decide who to leave out, when the next stage of the competition begins.

Join us as we take a closer look at all of the action from week two and preview what's ahead this weekend.
