Rugby Sevens: Improved All Blacks march into semis, as Black Ferns stay unbeaten at Cape Town

The All Blacks Sevens have put their shock loss to Spain behind them, with three consecutive wins to book their place in the Cape Town Cup semi-finals.

After a disastrous day one in South Africa, the men in black responded with a 31-5 demolition of Kenya, before edging Argentina 21-15 to finish atop Pool B.

The All Blacks Sevens then easily accounted for surprise packages Uruguay, hitting the half-century mark in a 50-nil victory in their quarter-final.

Moses Leo scored a hat-trick, with Caleb Tangitau touching down for a double to ease past the South American rugby minnows.

New Zealand will play USA in the first Cup semi-final, with hosts South Africa taking on Samoa in the other to determine the final.

Meanwhile, the Black Ferns Sevens will play Ireland in their semi-final after remaining unbeaten on day two of play.

New Zealand were made to fight hard against Fiji, with Jazmin Felix-Hotham scoring ultimately the decisive try to secure a 26-21 win after trailing at halftime.

That result set up a quarter-final clash against Canada, with Felix-Hotham again starring with a try-double, as well veteran Michaele Blyde for a comfortable 50-5 victory.

Should they beat Ireland in the semi-final, the Black Ferns will play either USA or Australia in the Cup final.
