NRL 2023: Wayde Egan returns for NZ Warriors, Ronald Volkman promoted against Cronulla Sharks

The NZ Warriors have welcomed the return of hooker Wayde Egan in their side to play the Cronulla Sharks at Sydney on Sunday.

Egan missed last week's win over Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs with a head injury, but replaces Freddy Lussick in the run-on team.

There is also a change in the halves, with Ronald Volkman promoted from the New South Wales Cup to partner Shaun Johnson in Te Maire Martin's absence.

Martin left the field after a head injury at Mt Smart Stadium on Sunday, and hasn't been deemed fit to play the Sharks.

Volkman's inclusion comes after impressive performances in the NSW Cup, where he sits second for try assists and line-break assists in the competition.

The rest of the 17-man squad is unchanged from their victory over the Bulldogs, which sees them fourth on the NRL table with three wins and just one loss.

The Warriors play a Sharks outfit coming off a huge win over St George Illawarra Dragons, with 2022 Dally M Medal-winner Nicho Hynes marking his return with a starring role.
