Golf: Lydia Ko misses cut at LPGA's Chevron Championship after rain-delayed second round completed

Lydia Ko has failed to make the cut at the first Major tournament of 2023, crashing out of the LPGA's Chevron Championship.

After rain delayed the end of the Kiwi's second round in Texas on Saturday (NZ time), Ko had two holes to make back three shots to scrape under the cut line when play resumed.

But those hopes were ended almost immediately, as 25-year-old Ko made a bogey on the par three 17th hole.

And even though the world No.1 pulled a shot back with a birdie on the 18th, Ko still finished her second round at three-over par, two shots back of the one-over cut line.

On Saturday, Ko made two birdies, but four bogeys and a double bogey - as well as missing three putts for birdie to lose sight of making the cut before the inevitable was finalised on Sunday morning.

The early exit extends Ko's run without a Major title, with her last title being the 2016 ANA Inspiration - now known as the Chevron Championship.
