NRL: NZ Warriors utility Dylan Walker wins judiciary battle, cleared to play Sydney Roosters

Warriors utility Dylan Walker has successfully had his dangerous contact charge downgraded by the NRL judiciary, and is free to play the Sydney Roosters on Sunday.

Had Walker been found guilty of the offense, he faced up to three weeks on the sideline, but instead, escaped with just a $2500 fine.

The ruling sees him keep his spot at five-eighth for the clash against the Roosters at Mt Smart Stadium.

It will undoubtedly be welcomed news to Warriors coach Andrew Webster, after his team were decimated by injuries in Anzac Day's defeat to Melbourne Storm.

Captain Tohu Harris, fullback Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad, and utility Jazz Tevaga have all been ruled out of the fixture.

But Walker's return is also boosted by hooker Wayde Egan, who has overcome his second concussion of the season.

Sunday's clash will be just the third played at Mt Smart Stadium, with the Warriors looking to avoid back-to-back defeats for the first time this season.

The two sides have met once already this season, as Sydney took a 20-12 victory in round two.
