NZ Breakers have filled their second import spot for the 2023/24 ANBL season with the addition of American guard Parker Jackson-Cartwright.

Jackson-Cartwright, 28, has inked a one-year deal with the Auckland-based franchise. He joins last year's finalists from Turkish club Besiktas, where he posted per-game averages of 17.9 points, 7.7 assists and seven rebounds through 14 games.

At 1.75m (5ft 9in) tall , the Californian is one of the smallest imports the Breakers have ever signed, but is also arguably the most decorated.

Before his year in Turkey, Jackson-Cartwright played alongside Breakers forward Finn Delany at German club Baskets Bonn, where he was named Bundesliga Most Valuable Player and International Player of the Year, averaging 20.4 points, seven assists and 3.5 rebounds.

"You don't measure the impact of a basketball player in his centimetres," said coach Mody Maor of his new recruit.

"You should look at the fact that his teams have historically won at every level. There's something infectious Parker possesses out on the floor and he’s bringing it to the Breakers."

Jackson-Cartwright joins compatriot Zylan Cheatham as the Breakers' second import, leaving one spot to fill.

Confirmed on the Breakers' roster are: Tom Abercrombie, Finn Delany, Will McDowell-White, Izayah Le'afa, Cam Gliddon, Dan Fotu, Mangok Mathiang, Dane Pineau, Next Star Mantas Rubštavicius, Cheatham, and Jackson-Cartwright.

The Breakers tip off their season against Cairns Taipans at Auckland on September 30.
