NRL: NZ Warriors touch down on enemy territory before finals epic against Brisbane Broncos

The Warriors have touched down on enemy territory in Brisbane, as they prepare to square off with the Broncos this weekend for a place in the NRL Grand Final.

The Warriors streamed off the plane to the sweltering heat in Queensland, which will reach furnace-like levels come kick off at a sold-out Suncorp Stadium on Saturday night.

Coach Andrew Webster is well aware of the magnitude of the task ahead.

"Any time you're in the final four it's always a privilege," said Webster.

"The boys deserve it. They’ve done extremely well, had a great year. But we want more so we're looking forward to the challenge.

The question hot on Australian media's minds was the availability of halfback Shaun Johnson, who Webster quickly reiterated was locked in to wear the No. 7 jersey at Suncorp Stadium.

The Dally M Medal contender was scratched from the finals opener against the Panthers, before being confirmed at the 11th hour to start the win over Newcastle Knights last weekend.

"There's no doubt [he'll play]," he said. "He's going well. He'll train tomorrow and he'll play."

"He played great on the weekend so I think everyone's comfortable with what he achieved. He's only going to be better than what he was last week, so we're happy with that."

The two sides have met just once this season, when the Broncos held off a late charging Warriors to win 26-22 in Napier back in May.

Webster believes both teams have improved immeasurably since.

"They know what their football looks like. They're fast, they're explosive, they take opportunities.

"That’s fine. We know how good they are, we respect them, but we're excited about the challenge."
