Live updates: Blackcaps v Bangladesh - second Twenty20 International from Mt Maunganui's Bay Oval

First ball from 7:10pm

Kia ora, good evening and welcome to live coverage of the second Twenty20 International between the Blackcaps and Bangladesh, from Mt Maugnagui's Bay Oval.

After two losses in as many games at Napier's McLean Park, the Blackcaps will be hoping a change of venue brings a change of format if they're to avoid losing the series on Friday night.

Despite never having won a white ball match against New Zealand on Kiwi soil, Bangladesh have now won their past two, avoiding a series whitewash in the ODIs before taking a 1-0 lead in the T20s.

Both of those wins were built around Bangladesh's bowling, with their seamers in particular adapting to Kiwi conditions perfectly.

Bay Oval has been a happy hunting ground for spinners in the past, so any repeat would also play into Bangladesh's hands, with their army of tweakers at the ready.

The Blackcaps will toy with the idea of making changes, most likely looking to get Rachin Ravindra into the side to reinforce the batting.

However, that would mean dropping a bowler, none of whom warrant such a punishment after not having a large enough target to defend at McLean Park in the first place.

TAB odds: New Zealand $1.27, Bangladesh $3.55

Teams (predicted):

New Zealand: 1-Finn Allen, 2-Tim Seifert (wk), 3-Daryl Mitchell, 4-Glenn Phillips, 5-Mark Chapman, 6-Jimmy Neesham, 7-Mitchell Santner (captain), 8-Adam Milne, 9-Tim Southee, 10-Ish Sodhi, 11-Ben Sears
