Kia ora and welcome to Newshub's live coverage of the opening T20 international between the Blackcaps and Pakistan from Eden Park.

After a rollercoaster couple of series against Bangladesh plagued by inclement weather, the hosts will be eager to set the tone for a more consistent stand against Pakistan in the first of a five-game series.

The squad which beat Bangladesh 2-1 last month has been bolstered by the return of some key players, with captain Kane Williamson, pacemen Matt Henry and Lockie Ferguson, as well as opener Devon Conway re-entering the fray.

Meanwhile, the tourists will look to rally around new captain Shaheen Afridi, as they take their first steps towards the T20 World Cup in the US and West Indies later this year.

We'll have all of the action from 7pm.
