Football Ferns have crushed Samoa 6-0 to remain unbeaten at the Oceania Olympic qualifier tournament at Apia.

The result all but guarantees the New Zealanders a spot in the semi-finals, backing up their 3-0 victory against Tonga in their opener on Wednesday. The winners automatically clinch a spot at the Paris Olympics, which start in July.

Jacqui Hand opened the Ferns account with a clinical finish from a pinpoint cross from Grace Jale. They soon had a second, as Kate Taylor netted her first international goal, with an assist provided from Macey Fraser.

After Samoa conceded a third from an own goal, Fraser then turned scorer, lacing a superb free-kick to register her own maiden international goal in style.

The Fens quickly improved on their 4-0 halftime lead, with Ally Green beating a slew of defenders, before slotting home the fifth goal of the day. In the 74th minute, Michaela Foster rounded out the scoring.

New Zealand have represented Oceania at every Olympic women's tournament since Beijing 2008, when Australia switched to the FIFA Asia confederation.
