Boxing: Joseph Parker reprises Brit boy band Take That to challenge Dillian Whyte to rematch

Surging Kiwi heavyweight Joseph Parker has returned to his trademark theatrics to issue a callout to Brit Dillian Whyte.

Parker was expected to lock horns again with Zhilei Zhang again, after his win over the Chinese fighter last month due to a rematch clause written into the original fight contract.

But reports are swirling Zhang may employ the right of refusal in favour of a monster pay day in Saudi Arabia against American Deontay Wilder.

Now Parker has turned his attention back to Whyte for a potential rematch. The pair fought in London back in 2018, when Whyte earned a unanimous decision win.

On Monday, the South Aucklander took to social media to produce another of the musicals he made his calling card during COVID-19, laying down the gauntlet to Whyte with a lip-synced rendition of Take That's 1995 hit Back for Good.

The video included highlights of their hard-fought bout at the O2 Arena, which was Parker's first bout after his world title tilt against Anthony Joshua.

He included the caption: "I want you back for good Dillian Whyte. If not, I'm moving on."

Whyte has also expressed interest in a rematch with Parker.

"It's funny because Parker has beaten both of them [Zhang and Wilder] back-to-back, and I've beaten Parker," Whyte told IFL TV.

"It'd be good to look at a rematch down the line."

Both veteran fighters' stocks are on the up. Parker is riding a five-fight win streak, including his career highlight whitewash of Wilder in Saudi Arabia, while Whyte has won two straight since losing to Tyson Fury in April 2022.
