Kiwi golfer Lydia Ko has recorded a second solid round to remain in title contention at the Chevron Championship.

Beginning her day in a share of fourth, Ko carded a one under-par 71 to move to four-under overall at the LPGA's first Major of the year at The Woodlands in Texas.

The world no. 8 is four shots adrift of co-leaders Jin Hee Im of South Korea and Thailand's Atthaya Thitikul in a seven-way tie for 10th.

The 26-year-old's round included four birdies, two of which came consecutively at the sixth and seventh holes, but were offset by a trio of bogeys.

Ko needs just one more tour win to earn induction to the LPGA Hall of Fame.

She hasn't recorded a tour win since her triumph at the Tournament of Champions in Florida in January.

Her second and last Major win was at the 2015 ANA Inspiration in California, which has since become the Chevron Championship.
