The rising price of imported olive oils may level the playing field for Kiwi olive farmers.
They've created a food hub called Mangaroa Farms in Upper Hutt.
"If you can't plant it now and produce it during this summer it won't be there for next spring and for next year's harvest."
It follows a successful small-scale trial several years ago in the same region.
