A UK teen has gone viral on Twitter for his sequined tuxedo jacket and bright red ballgown skirt he wore to prom.

Korben, a 16-year-old schoolboy, delighted Twitter users over the weekend after his mother, Nina Green, tweeted photos of his glamorous prom outfit to show her love and support.

When the teen arrived at his high school prom in Harleston, Norfolk, he was met with loud cheers from his classmates, Green told the BBC.

"I was crying, some of the teachers were crying, because he was being who he wanted to be," his mother told the BBC.
The teen's fearless fashion choice caused quite a stir on the social media platform, with the post retweeted over 3000 times and liked by over 122,000 users.

Green captioned her images: "At age 12, my son announced he wanted to go to his school prom in a gown. Four years later we made it happen. I'm so incredibly proud of him for being true to himself and the reception he got from his whole school was incredible."

In her tweet, Green tagged two of Korben's idols, Michelle Visage and Billy Porter, to ask for their thoughts. They were blown away to see Visage, a judge on the hit drag queen reality TV show RuPaul's Drag Race, respond to his photos.

Visage retweeted Green's tweet, with the caption: "Ohhhhhhhh yes! You are an amazing, beautiful mom and your child is a STAR."

Korben told the BBC it was "very surreal" to see.

The day after the viral post, the mother and son were at Pride in London when someone in the march came up to him and asked if he was the boy in the red dress, who then told Korben they think he's amazing, Green told the BBC.

Korben's mother later discussed the reaction on Twitter, having said she never expected it to get the response it received.

"The support & positivity has been overwhelming," Green tweeted, "It's his life & I'm letting him live it!"
