Ahead of the release of the first batch of photos from NASA's James Webb telescope tomorrow (NZ time), US President Joe Biden will unveil the first full-colour image from the White House.

The photos have taken weeks to process from raw data and are expected to help transform astronomy, with more data from closer to the Big Bang than ever before.

NASA Administrator Bill Nelson will also provide remarks, with the image simultaneously released to the public via NASA's website, the agency said in a statement.
