The 20 jobs Chat GPT-4 says it can replace

If you work in data entry, customer services or in roles requiring writing and researching skills - watch out, because Chat GPT-4 says it can potentially replace your job.

Chat GPT from digital tech company Open AI is now the fastest-growing web platform in history, and its new version, GPT-4, is vastly more powerful than its predecessor.

The AI language model can help with a wide range of tasks, including answering questions, providing recommendations, and generating text, leading to fears it could replace many jobs.

A list of 20 jobs and the associated human traits the AI language model says it can replace has gone viral on Twitter, with many fearing for their careers.

Among the common professions making the list are paralegal, copywriter, translator, news reporter and travel agent.

GPT-4 said it could replace the planning, fact-checking, proof-reading, research, organisation, creativity, writing and language proficiency skills needed for these roles.

However some questioned GPT-4's claims.

"News reporter makes no sense because it needs a human to see & describe what happened. I think that will be one of the largest areas of plagiarism," one person tweeted in reply.

"There's no way a social media manager can be replaced with AI, cus we know AI can't create content without instructions," said another person.

Others said the GPT-4 had missed jobs off the list.

"It forgot Coder. GPT is an instant code wiz," one person said.

Brainbox senior consultant, Allyn Robins, recently told Newshub that it's "hard to overstate the impact" GPT-4 will have.

"It's a big deal because these systems can do things that previously could only really be done by humans, like write code and write convincing texts. And it's better than any system that's been made before," said Robins.

"Some people are going to lose their jobs over this because this is a tool that allows you to do tasks more quickly and easily and means you'll need fewer people to get basically the same result."

A recent study found 80 percent of the US workforce could have at least 10 percent of tasks automated and nearly a fifth could have at least half their job automated.
