Five destinations that will make you want to extend your Anzac break

Although Anzac day falls on a Wednesday this year, there may still be the temptation to take a couple of days leave and turn it into a five-day weekend.

According to the experts at Booking.com, travelling somewhere for the first time boosts your confidence and makes you seem more interesting and successful.

So here's a few places scattered around New Zealand that could just push you over the edge to take those days off work.

It's a pity there's only one because this villa books up quickly. This Cambridge three-bedroom villa is a perfect sneaky getaway with a few friends in the upper North Island. Lake Karapiro is just up the road and the house has a lovely garden with a barbeque. You won't want to come back.

For those who love getting in amongst nature. Located at Mahana and set in a quiet forest, you could ride one of the cycle trails, try your hand at mountain biking and then relax with a tasty beer before retiring to this hidden treasure of Beach Hill. 

Auckland -  The Hidden Retreat

The Hidden Retreat in Auckland is the perfect place to unwind in a home away from home. This place ticks all the boxes with a lovely garden, barbeque, spa pool and a deck. It's not far from Auckland so you won't have to pack your car full of a week's worth of supplies.
