These stunning images of the warm sun beating down on a sandy beach could be postcard photos from any tropical island, but they're not.
Despite being renowned for its rainy weather, Scotland looks almost unrecognisable as it experiences the UK's first heatwave this year.
Photographer Alessio Putzu was visiting Scotland as it was basking in sunlight and captured these jaw-dropping images.
"It does rain, but when the sun sheds its warm light on the majestic rugged coastline, on the white sand dunes or on an early morning sunrise at the most windy lighthouse in the UK, it can create a beautiful sight and you immediately fell in love with it," said Putzu.
