Flights were cancelled Thursday morning as thick fog blanketed areas of Auckland.
Twenty-six domestic regional flights were cancelled and 23 domestic regional flights were delayed because of the fog.
No international flights were affected; neither were domestic flights to Wellington, Dunedin and Queenstown.
It was estimated the fog wouldn't last very long, according to MetService, with some areas already thinning by late morning.
But the meteorological service advised people on Twitter to be careful on the roads, and to check for flight cancellations.
